Global Educational Management Systems

In April 2008, SAGIA and Emaar selected GEMS, an international education provider renowned for quality education and teacher training, to operate the first school in the new King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). The school, to be operational in 2010, will spread over 50,000 square meters and initially offer kindergarten to high school classes for over 2,000 students.

The school will be a highlight of KAEC’s residential communities, and will focus on providing international standards of education through highly qualified teachers, contemporary classroom environments, advanced laboratories, and extensive art and sports facilities.

With over 75 schools worldwide, GEMS consistently ensures high academic standards well above national averages in all the countries it operates. For example, GEMS IGCSE examination results are 23 points above the United Kingdom’s national average, with top places in Chemistry, Biology and Spanish. GEMS enjoys Cambridge International Fellowship Center status and has won the UAE's top laurel in education, the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Excellence.
